How long has LeClair been marketing LTC insurance?
Since the beginning. We started with skilled nursing home policies in 1966 and really ramped up with comprehensive LTC plans in 1992.

What does LeClair offer in the health area?
We offer several competitively priced major medical, short-term medical and Medicare supplement plans, as well as disability income, dental and a variety of supplemental health plans including cancer, critical illness and accidental injury coverage.

Does LeClair offer life and annuities?
We offer a variety of life products, including low cost term, term with return of premium, whole and universal life, impaired risk life, junior and senior life and final expense life. Our selection of guaranteed annuities includes single and flexible premium immediate and deferred products.

What types of sales support services does Leclair offer?
Product and sales training, back office support (contracting, filling supply orders, checking policy apps for accuracy and completeness, ordering medical records and tests, tracking cases through the approval process, etc.) and marketing assistance.

Can LeClair help with pre-underwriting your client's health condition?
We can screen the applicant's health conditions, consult with underwriting and recommend the class in which to submit the application or whether to submit it at all.

What is the turn around time for illustrations, supplies, applications, etc?
Within 24 hours for illustrations; normally same day for supplies, forms, etc., that can be emailed; 2 day delivery of printed materials we have in stock; and a week or less for supplies we have to order from a carrier.

If you have an application declined, can LeClair help you place it with another carrier?
We automatically shop the application with another of our carriers based on the decline information we receive from the carrier and any information the agent is able to obtain from the applicant about the decline.

How often does LeClair follow up on the status of the APS or underwriting decision from the carrier?
Our case managers check the status of cases that have outstanding medical requirements or are pending an underwriting decision on a daily basis.

Can LeClair provide you with point of sale or consumer seminar assistance and, if so, will your commission be reduced?
LeClair can provide assistance with seminar presentations or arrange for assistance from a carrier wholesaler. Doing so will not affect your commission.

Does LeClair have a referral program?

Will LeClair provide any assistance with marketing?
We can train you to conduct consumer seminars and make our written presentations available for your use. In addition we can put you in touch with carrier marketing experts, give you access to their consumer sales materials and assist you in the development of your own customized marketing materials.

How will you receive commissions?
In most cases commissions are paid directly to the producer by the carrier; however, LeClair has the ability to do commission accounting and payment as required.

Commission levels vary by company and product. Call for available contract levels.

How often are commissions paid?
Commissions paid directly by the carriers vary according the their payment schedule, from weekly to monthly. Commissions paid through LeClair are run weekly, triggered by our receipt of commissions from the carriers.

Can your commissions be increased with volume?
In general, commissions can be increased based on volume of business; however, this varies based on the carrier and contract level and whether the agent is a direct report independent agent or associated with LeClair through a general agent or intercompany relationship.
